Stupid self absorbed teens need reality checks like this.

I heard the FBI had nothing to do with the arrest

Excuse me while I enjoy a hefty and healthy dose of schadenfreude.

I'm just glad a stupid teen is finally having some repercussions for their idiotic online actions.
Maybe this will make some people start to realize that what they say/do on the internet has real life implications.
And with that, maybe we'll get less idiots

No, it is easy. Subject turns themselves in and then the police take credit for catching them.

Yes she's a dumb teen who needs some better education, common sense and probably some better parenting. But holy hell it must have been a slow news day for this to become an international news story dragging on for multiple days.

DAMNIT. Sorry, that's what I get for not following Barry's every move.

In all honesty, I only skimmed the article. I guess that's what happened?

Well, I think the tweet gained some big attention only because AA actually responded to the kid. The world needs a followup, man!
Also: Dutch Parents.

Nothing necessarily wrong with Dutch parents. (Mine didn't do a great job but that's a different story ;) ) More a western parents things IMO.
And I understand that AA responding attracted some attention, but come on..
Basic story in a nutshell : Teen says something stupid on the internet. Big company responds. Media picks it up. Big company milks the attention.
Also she, probably coincidentally, phrased it in such a way you could actually get away with it since nothing threatening has been said. At most just implied.

I can't speak globally, but in the US you can be arrested for an implied threat.
